How to apply

How to apply: 5 simple steps

  • Start your journey by creating an account on our application portal.
  • Choose the programme and intake that best suits your goals and timeline.
  • Complete your application by uploading the necessary documents, including relevant diplomas, your curriculum vitae, work references (if applicable), a motivation letter, a copy of your passport, and English test results.
  • Unsure about your proficiency in English ? Certify your English level with a free online test provided by Duolingo and upload your results to our application portal. Keep in mind that while Duolingo provides a helpful indication of your English level, some Swiss Embassies may require an IELTS certification or other officially recognised English test results for visa applications. Contact your local BHMS representative for clarification on regional requirements.
  • Save your progress on the application portal and return to complete it at your convenience.

  • Our Admissions team will review your application within 72 hours. We will let you know if any documentation is missing or needs updating.
  • For certain programmes, a follow-up interview will be arranged.

  • If you are eligible to enrol in one of our programmes, we will issue you a letter of acceptance (LOA).
  • Pay your application fee and deposit within 10 days of receiving your letter of acceptance. Some programmes require an additional security deposit.
  • You will receive a receipt and confirmation of enrolment as soon as we have received the initial payment.

  • Prepare the documents required by the Swiss Embassy in your country. The process of applying for and receiving a visa can take up to 12 weeks. Please consider this when deciding when you would like to start your studies.
  • Once your visa is confirmed, pay the balance of your fees for the first year of your studies. This must be paid after BHMS presents proof of your visa confirmation but no later than four weeks before the term starts.

  • Upon receiving full payment, BHMS will issue an NOC (No Open Cost) letter and send it directly to the Swiss Embassy in your hometown so you may receive your visa stamp.
  • After that, you may book your flight ticket to Zurich Airport, where we will be waiting to transfer you to your new home in Lucerne.
  • Download our Welcome Guide to prepare for your stay.
