How AI is redefining creativity and teamwork globally?

In September, two of our MBA students, Sadanan Lorpenpop and Sowmithran Saravanan, guided by our Associate Dean, Judith Schädler Wurster, embarked on an exciting academic journey to Wroclaw University of Economics, for the COEUR Business Creativity Workshop on Innovation and Entrepreneurship

This year's focus on Artificial Intelligence highlighted its growing impact on global economies and showcased the potential of AI-driven solutions. COEUR’s core mission is to cultivate creativity and entrepreneurship among students from diverse backgrounds.

Artificial Intelligence in Action

The theme, "Man vs. Machine,"  guided participants through hands-on innovation in multicultural teams. Students collaborated closely, benefiting from the hospitality of the organising university and insights from AI experts. A standout session was delivered by Oscar Adamkiewicz on AI in banking, where students learned how AI is transforming financial services with real-world applications.

We challenged each other’s thinking and discovered creative solutions that none of us would have come up with alone. This collaborative flow not only strengthened our project but also deepened our bond as a team.

Key Takeaways from Our Students’ Experience

  • The Strength of Diverse Teams: Collaborating in multicultural groups showed how diverse perspectives enhance problem-solving and fuel innovation.
  • Growth Through Challenge: Students pushed their boundaries, leading to significant personal and professional development.
  • Innovation through Collaboration: Teamwork fostered groundbreaking ideas and solutions with practical applications.

Insights from a Coaching Perspective

  • Creativity and Innovation in Action: “The creativity and entrepreneurial mindset students displayed while working in intercultural teams was inspiring.”
  • Global Knowledge Exchange: “Students from renowned universities enriched the experience with a high level of knowledge exchange.”
  • Building Entrepreneurial Expertise: “Participants strengthened their understanding of entrepreneurship with support from international business experts.”

A Participant's Perspective: Sadanan’s Experience

Sadanan, one of our MBA students, shares her major takeaways:

  • Collaborative Innovation: “I felt my team was ideal for the task because we had a unique synergy—each person brought distinct strengths, and we quickly developed trust, making idea-sharing easy and open. We challenged each other’s thinking, uncovering solutions none of us would have found alone. This collaborative flow strengthened our project and deepened our bond as a team.
  • Cross-Cultural Insights: “The workshop connected students from various countries, giving us valuable perspectives and enriching my understanding of diverse approaches to problem-solving.”
  • Practical Application: “I gained hands-on experience with tools and methodologies applicable to real-world challenges. Coaches from five different countries guided us through creating innovative projects, from ideation to prototyping.”

The COEUR Workshop challenges MBA students to step outside their comfort zones, embracing diversity and team thinking to develop innovative business ideas. Guided and evaluated by real startup experts, students gain hands-on experience that builds confidence and prepares them for real-world entrepreneurial success.
